I made this especially for Andrea, my daughter who developed eczema just after she was born. Thankfully for her (and this anxious mommy!), it worked! No more angry red patches behind her knees and on her neck anymore.

Patchouli essential oil is known to be excellent for soothing inflamed, irritated skin, aiding in the healing of wounds and sores by promoting cell rejuvenation. In aromatherapy, it is grounding, and helps to relieve anxiety and depression.

Scent: I can still smell the warm, spicy notes of patchouli on my children’s heads and skin after their showers, and it gradually fades after about 4-5 hours. It’s a homely kind of scent – familiar, soothing, calming.

Lather: Rich and creamy when used directly on hair or bath puff/sponge. Lathers up quite nicely in the palm of your hand too.

This bar is particularly good for people who live with dry, itchy skin. I kept the ingredients in this unscented bar very simple with the intention of creating something that is gentle and soothing on the skin.

Honey is a natural humectant, drawing water from the atmosphere onto the skin. Yoghurt contains amongst other things lactic acid and zinc, both of which serve to soften skin. When I learned that ground oatmeal has been used traditionally in bath water to soothe itchy skin, I had to test it out–and feedback from my friends suggest it’s true! So in went the oatmeal into this bar.

This soap is intended for you who have sensitive skin that is prone to acne flare-ups, and especially those with reddened skin on the face when aggravated by stress or external pollutants. (Which of course means everyone else can use it too. :) )

My intention is to help soothe the inflammation, albeit perhaps only temporarily because of the vast number of underlying causes to your skin condition. Guess what—mine behaves like this occasionally as well. But the sophisticated blend of scents of the essential oils is quite a treat in itself.

Scent: Has a rather grown-up bouquet of scents, owing to the essential oils I used – lavender, roman chamomile, geranium, rosemary, tea tree, and patchouli to ground them all. I personally find it quite indulgent to use in the shower! The scent lingers for a short while on your skin, but my oh my the bathroom will smell heavenly! ;)

Wondering if there is a way to put a fresh twist to the quintessentially calming scent of lavender? My curiosity led me to experiment with, and happily introduce to my shop this bar of skin-loving soap that is scented with Lavender and Sweet Orange essential oils.

There is no doubt that the bright, sunny scent of sweet orange gifts spirits a gentle lift when inhaled — but did you know that it is also said to support collagen formation in the skin? I haven’t used this soap long enough for me to stake this claim for myself, but I would be most interested to hear of your experience should you decide to try this bar. Does your skin firm up, yet still feel comfortably moisturized?

In any case, this is my happiest-smelling soap in the shop to date. Try it out for yourself!

Scent: The sweet orange scent comes across right away as soon as you lather up, followed by the mellower lavender. The scent does not linger long on the skin — just enough to leave you feeling calm and refreshed.

I formulated this unscented bar with the intention of providing a little extra comfort for those of you who have dry skin or live in more arid, cold and dry climates.

Contains generous lashings of cocoa butter and anti-oxidant rich cocoa powder that will leave you with soft, silky-smooth skin after each shower. It doesn’t smell strongly of chocolate, but you might just catch a whiff of the cocoa butter while showering. (I occasionally stick my nose into my stash of cocoa butter just to inhale its heavenly scent!)

I am proud to say that the cocoa butter I use in all my soap is made from cocoa beans that are grown and produced in Malaysia.

Use on: Face, body, hair. If you have particularly oily or congested skin on your face you might want to avoid using it for cleansing your face — the cocoa butter content may be a little too rich for you, sorry. But if you’re willing to experiment, do go ahead! :)

Clarity for your skin and mind was what compelled me to come up with this formula for you.

In skin care, eucalyptus essential oil is anti-bacterial and can help clear up those pesky pimples a little quicker by gradually treating congested skin. This quality also enables it to encourage healing of minor wounds and ulcers. To complement the clarifying properties of this essential oil in the soap, I added activated carbon and french green clay to gently absorb excess sebum from your skin as you shower.

The scent of eucalyptus is unmistakable — fresh and sharp. It makes you want to stretch out your arms as far as you possibly can, look skywards and inhale deeply. Perhaps this is why it is said to clear those cobwebs in your head and promote focused thought. People who are prone to colds and flus would also value its ability to clear blocked noses when inhaled, as it reduces the swelling of mucus membranes.

To be honest, I don’t fall sick often… But I no longer have miserable, sleepless nights due to colds, ever since I discovered the magic that just a few drops of eucalyptus oil on a face towel placed on my pillow can do! The relief is immeasurable.

Scent: Wonderfully refreshing, and will stay with you for a while after your shower. To help clear up a stuffy or runny nose, it is best to lather up under water that is as warm as you can comfortably tolerate.

This humble bar of soap serves as a pick-me-up in so many ways!

What you’ll notice right away is the fun, fizzy scent of the soap–I didn’t quite expect it to remind me of lemonade, but it does! Rest assured that all the ingredients used were completely natural though. :) It’s a blend of sweet orange, rosemary and peppermint essential oils that serve to beat back depression and encourage mental clarity.

This combination is also fantastic for your skin and hair. Rosemary essential oil is a popular ingredient in haircare products as it is reputed to increase circulation to the scalp, thereby promoting healthy hair and stimulating its growth. It is also used to treat acne, dermatitis and eczema. Peppermint and sweet orange essential oils treat the same skin conditions as well as to reduce inflammation and itchiness.

Here’s a recipe for you if what you’re looking for is gentle cleansing and moisturization without any scent. Goats milk and honey work together to draw and retain moisture in your skin, while at the same time the entire soap bar will leave your skin gently and effectively cleansed. The warm, amber-coloured heart of the soap contains an even higher concentration of honey there, so if you put your nose to the bar you’ll probably catch a whiff of the golden liquid.

Safe enough for baby’s skin.

Feel like giving your body a light buffing to gently slough off that layer of dull, old skin?

This bar of soap is laden with ground coffee beans for a light scrub in the shower. The combination of ginger, lemongrass and lime essential oils serve not only to lift your spirits out of the doldrums or sluggishness, but also to impart warmth to tired muscles and calm redness on the skin. These three scents are common in asian households – we use them a lot in our cooking because of the wonderful flavours they impart, and also for the many therapeutic, tonifying effects they have for our digestive and immune systems.

I also added fresh yoghurt to the blend to help soften and nourish skin further. Need I say more about how great this bar of soap is?
